/Farming News Articles/ - SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA, May 23, 2007 - AMFIL Technologies' is proud to announce the addition of its mPact-5SC, a nimble mobile, cold-water based ozone cleaning/antimicrobial system for food and beverage processors. The system features a dual flow hand sprayer capable of spraying ozonated high and low pressure water simultaneously in converging streams at the point of intervention. This allows the ozonated high pressure cold water to remove solids, oils, bio-films and other organic matter from food contact surfaces quickly while the sanitizing antimicrobial rinse (from the ozonated low pressure water) follows almost immediately (by milliseconds) on the food contact surface. Both streams can be sprayed simultaneously or individually for optimal efficacy.
The mPact-5SC provides food and beverage processors the ability to eliminate or greatly reduce the use of foamers, degreasers, and hot water cleaning/sanitation steps during regularly scheduled cleaning shifts. The typical decrease in the chemicals, hot water and labor steps, allows the mPact-5SC to recoup wasted costs, allowing a short term ROI for most customers. In addition, the system's unique capability allows it to connect to stationary spray bars for cleaning & sanitizing of food/beverage processing lines or even directly on the product during production. It should be noted that Ozone is listed by the National Organic Program (NOP) for use on food products and the mPact systems keeps both products & surfaces cleaned/sanitized during processing.
AMFIL Technologies reports more than several large North American beverage processors are using the core AMFIL developed mPact system technology for efficacy testing. Corporate goals of reducing and ultimately eliminating the use of chemicals within bottling operations are driving the current rounds of pilot production testing. AMFIL expects the ongoing testing to continue to be positive and result in additional sales of both mobile-based and centralized mPact systems.
