ABC Tree Commits to Safety, Curbs OSHA Fines with Intelex Safety Software
U.S. vegetation management and emergency restoration service leader ABC Tree has successfully reduced workplace injuries and mitigated OSHA penalties by implementing Intelex's pioneering safety management software solutions.
TORONTO, ON, July 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Courtesy of Intelex Technologies Inc.'s proven Safety Management Solutions, U.S. vegetation and utility management provider ABC Tree has been able to build a safer work environment and mitigate the impact of fines imposed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
ABC Tree, one of America's largest and fastest-growing vegetation management and electric utility restoration services, deals in one of the most dangerous industries in the U.S. Though the company does its utmost to minimize the occurrence of injuries among employees, accidents are virtually unavoidable.
Last year, ABC Tree integrated Intelex technology into its Safety Management System to ensure the safest workplace possible. After ABC Tree demonstrated it was taking proactive steps to track and prevent injuries, OSHA agreed to mitigate its penalties.
"With Intelex software, we were able to show a downward trend on recordable injuries from 2008 to 2010," says Osvaldo Jimenez, safety manager at ABC Tree. "There was no way I could have been able to show that data without Intelex."
Recognizing that through the use of Intelex software ABC Tree is en route to a safer, more accident-free work environment, OSHA agreed to reduce the fines retroactively by nearly half.
Among the other software ABC Tree has integrated into their system, Osvaldo says the user-friendly Injury and Illness Modules, used to track all details of every occurrence of an Injury, has saved the company time, money and stress.
"Intelex software is not only capable of preventing injuries and cultivating a safer work environment," says Mark Jaine, President and CEO of Intelex. "By demonstrating a proactive approach to injury prevention with our software, businesses that operate in dangerous sectors--like ABC Tree--can ensure employee safety and curb the impact of penalties."
ABC Tree and its 2,400 employees serve municipal organizations and electric utilities across 35 states.
