Scranton, a Certified Crop Advisor and Area Agronomist for Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in crop consultation and product development.

Richard A. Scranton has 30 years of experience in his field, with eight years of experience as an area agronomist for Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. Growing up on a farm, he was tremendously inspired by his grandfather, Amos Scranton, who helped him develop an interest in and foundational knowledge of agriculture; he also helped cultivate in him an appreciation for the diversity of crops and their usage within the livestock industry. In order to fulfill his job responsibilities at Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., Mr. Scranton must create demand, conduct research, develop and characterize products, mentor others, and educate the sales force about products and services.

He attributes his success to his passion for his profession, and ability to mentor people so that they may develop further in their positions. He received a bachelor's degree in agricultural science in 1997 from Western Illinois University and an associate of applied science in agribusiness management in 1982 from John Wood Community College. He is a member of the Crop Science Society of America, the American Society of Agronomy, and the National Corn Growers of America.
