NUEVO, CA, April 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Essie L. Bootsma, Co-Owner of John Bootsma Dairy, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in agricultural services.

Drawing on 40 years of professional experience in cattle and dairy farm management, Essie Bootsma is recognized for demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of agricultural services. As co-owner of John Bootsma Dairy, she is tasked with overseeing technical operations, caring for cows and performing various veterinary-related duties. A complete newcomer to the industry four decades ago, Ms. Bootsma married into a cattle farming family; she so quickly learned the ropes that she was soon raising 200 calves on her own and building corrals in her spare time. Breaking away from the family business, she and her husband established their own dairy. A truly hands-on entrepreneur, Ms. Bootsma milks cows, treats sick cows and delivers babies, as well as serves as electrician, plumber and mechanic. She is particularly proud to be continuing the Bootsma family legacy in the cattle business, and attributes her success to hard work and dedication.

Ms. Bootsma completed coursework at Chaffey Community College. In 1996, she became an active member of the California Milk Advisory Board, which she now serves as secretary and through which she works hard to promote California dairy products. She also supports her fellow dairymen as secretary of the WRAC Advisory Board and as chairman of the Water Resource Board of San Jacinto and board member of the Eastern Municipal Water District. Recently, she was named Professional of the Year in Agricultural Services by Cambridge Who's Who.

Fulfilled in both her personal and professional life, Ms. Bootsma still relishes working on her dairy and derives personal satisfaction from helping her peers stay in business as well. She enjoys the company of her five grandchildren in her free time.
